Full Moon Chicken Bacon Dog Treats Review

full moon chicken bacon dog treats review

It’s important to get dog treats that are good for your dog as well as safe. These days you always hear about treats that are causing dogs to get sick or even killing dogs. You always have to be aware of what you are feeding your dog to avoid illness.

I came across Full Moon for the first time awhile back on one of the product deal websites I follow because I love paying less for products. They had these Full Moon chicken bacon dog treats half off and did some research on them before purchasing. After I read reviews about what other people thought, I decided to get them for my dogs. They were half off, so how could I say no?

These dog treats are made in the USA and use all natural ingredients. There is no corn, wheat or soy in them. I enjoy using these for basic training or tricks for my dogs because they have a strong smell. They are also easy to break apart if you want to give your dog a smaller piece. I break mine into piece because my dogs aren’t big and two of them don’t have many teeth left.

My favorite thing about the bag the treats come in are the words, “Made for your pet to eat, not you.” I never tried them but I wonder how many people have! Nom nom nom!

The only thing I don’t like about these dog treats is the way they make my hands feel greasy after I give some to my dogs. Besides my own little personal complaint, I found these treats to be good.

I would recommend checking them out if you have a dog or even a picky dog. I read some reviews awhile back on how some dogs who were picky ended up loving these treats. But remember to check the ingredients if your dog has a food allergy to make sure they won’t have a bad reaction to these treats.

You can check these treats out on Amazon or Full Moon’s website.

Peanut Butter Oatmeal Dog Treats

I have always wanted to make home made dog treats for my dogs. Since I had to get up early to see Duke the pug (life of a pet sitter) and it is Puppy Bowl Sunday, I decided to make home made dog treats. As a “newbie” of dog treat baking, I went with a simple recipe. So simple that if my dog’s had thumbs they could of made them.

Ingredients:

– 2 cups of flour (you can use whole wheat flour or a different type)
– 1 cup rolled oats
– 1/3 cup peanut butter, chunky or smooth (I used smooth)
– 1 1/4 cups hot water

Directions:

1. Preheat over to 350°F
2. Mix the dry ingredients together
3. Mix in the peanut butter and the hot water. If the dough is too sticky you can add more flour.
4. Knead the dough

5. Roll out the dough into 1/4″ thickness (mine weren’t exact).
6. Cut into shapes with dog cookie cutters or any shape you like.

7. Bake for 40-50 minutes on a lightly greased baking sheet/cookie sheet.

8. Let them cool off over night or if you cant wait like me let them cool off on a wire rack.

9. Give your dogs a treat!

I enjoyed making these dog treats and my dog’s enjoyed eating them. Can’t beat snacking on some home made treats while watching the Puppy Bowl on Animal Planet.
